Humulin N Pen (Lily) is not being discontinued and is available from any pharmacy.

Another product, Novolin N Innolet, which was a competitor to Lily's Humulin N pen has been discontinued. Although Novartis tried for years to promote this product, consumers did not like it because it was too bulky compared to Lily's Humulin N pen. Consequently, its sales never supported its cost.

Your patient should be eligible for Lily's patient assistance program which will provide her Humulin N pen at little or no cost. Is she not also eligible for Medicare? Impoverished patients on Medicare Part D pay only $3,30 for a 90 day supply of insulin and that co-pay can be waived by the pharmacy so she has no out-of-pocket expense.

Long term use of inhaled steroids can cause side effects such as high blood pressure, diabetes [diabetes diet plan], weakened bones and cataracts. You should take the medications which are prescribed by the doctor.
