I took a cruise in June of 2008. As you mentioned, there was endless 24 hour a day availability of food. I do have to credit the cruise line, though- as there was an outstanding choice of "healthy" foods like fruit and veggies, and also each sit down restaurant had a vegetarian choice on the menu. Also, the workout center was large, and I had to wait for a treadmill each day, even at 6:00 am in the morning. The second to the last day there was a "On Deck for the Cure" 5k walk/run to raise money for the Komen Foundation, which had quite a few participants.....so I think education is a key factor here-- healthy choices are available if one just knows to look for them.
